Thomaston Savings Bank has opened a new branch in the Unionville section of Farmington.

The new branch is located at 2 South Main St., where the bank recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Employees were joined at the ceremony by the bank’s board of directors, the Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce, the branch’s partners and members of the community, Thomaston Savings Bank said in a statement.

“Thomaston Savings Bank brings so much to our community, they have already become such an asset to us in terms of being involved in community projects and redeveloping this beautiful building,” Rose Ponte, Farmington’s economic development director, said in the statement. “We are delighted the bank is expanding in our community.”

The Unionville branch is the 15th location for the $1.59 billion-asset Thomaston Savings Bank and its second branch in Farmington.

“We are delighted to expand our network into Unionville,” Carrie Zimyeski, chair of Thomaston Savings Bank’s board, said in the statement. She added: “We look forward to the branch’s success in the community.”
