Naugatuck-based Ion Bank has opened a new branch in South Windsor, continuing its expansion into Central Connecticut.
The new branch is located at 1751 Ellington Rd in South Windsor, Ion Bank’s first branch east of Hartford. The $1.7 billion-asset Ion Bank also opened a new branch earlier this year in Farmington’s Unionville neighborhood, its second Farmington location, and now has 20 branches.
“This is an exciting opportunity to bring a true community bank to South Windsor,” David J. Rotatori, president and CEO of Ion Bank, said in a statement. “As a mutual bank, we do what is in the best interest of our customers and the communities we serve. We’re thrilled to now be part of the South Windsor community and welcome the opportunity to serve its residents, families and businesses.”
The new South Windsor branch has personal bankers and a commercial lending team, as well as wealth management services through Ion Investments. An interactive teller machine is also available with extended hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
