Dave Metzgar, the founder and leader of Stamford-based First County Bank’s wealth management division, will retire next month, and Charles B. Carroll Jr. will take over as the new leader.
Metzgar founded First County Advisors more than 35 years ago to help local people maximize and manage wealth, the bank said in a statement. First County Advisors provides investment management and estate planning. Metzgar, who is a senior vice president and senior trust officer, will oversee the leadership transition until he retires at the end of May.
Carroll joined First County Advisors’ senior management team in December after spending a decade at TD Ameritrade as a director of sales partnerships.
With an extensive background in financial planning and leadership, Carroll will be tasked with growing First County Advisors, securing new investment partnerships and developing services to enhance the client experience, the bank said.
First County Advisors has also hired Bob Long as a vice president and relationship manager. Long joined First County Advisors from J.P. Morgan Chase and will take over the management of Metzgar’s client relationships.
“First County Bank is so proud of what we’ve achieved under Dave,” Robert Granata, chairman and CEO of First County Bank and First County Advisors, said in the statement. “With Charlie’s experience and Bob Long’s exceptional focus on client service, we’re excited to build on Dave’s success and to grow stronger to help local people prosper.”
