Stamford-based William Pitt – Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty has picked a new provider for the 3D virtual tours its agents post with home listings.
The firm will now use Asteroom to provide agents with virtual tours that it said would be both more efficient and cheaper to create while delivering a good user experience for potential buyers viewing the listing.

Asteroom’s 3D tour product allows the online user to move through a house, understand the flow of rooms and view “dollhouse” floor plans that provide a three-dimensional perspective.
Demand for “true virtual reality” tours has increased for residential resale listings has increased by 750 percent during the last year thanks to COVID-19 restrictions and fears, Asteroom said, adding that Zillow data shows 1 in 20 home buyers now purchase a home without visiting it in person thanks in part to the increased use of these virtual tours.

The company said it has already received enthusiastic feedback from early adopters among its sales professionals.
“I was able to create a great quality 3D tour, and the best part is it didn’t take long: 45 minutes to create a tour for a 3,500 square-foot home with a turnaround time of 24 hours,” said AnnMarie Sementilli, a licensed real estate salesperson with the company’s New Canaan office. “All in all, it is a simple and seamless process, and a product I can use for all listings.”
