The former Macy’s at the Meriden Mall could be converted into medical offices and other services.

Minnesota-based MedCraft Healthcare Real Estate has filed plans with Meriden officials for the conversion, the Record Journal reports.

The 180,000-square-foot space has been empty since last year, but Macy’s has not sold off the building.

Renovations will include punching windows in the building envelope along with exterior improvements and extensive interior renovations.
