A 105-room hotel has been approved by the Wallingford Planning and Zoning Commission.
The hotel, on a 4.36-acre site just off Interstate 91 at Exit 15, would occupy a parcel that has sat vacant since a subdivision was approved for the site in 1983 but never built, according to the minutes from the commission’s Oct. 16 meeting.
The hotel would operate under the Hampton Inn & Suites brand of hospitality company Hilton. The developer is Wallingford Lodging Partners.
A $72 million, state-of-the-art cancer treatment facility has been proposed nearby by a joint venture of Hartford HealthCare and the Yale New Haven Health System.
