Hartford’s Bushnell Park will be home to a beer garden starting this Friday.

The park’s Pump House will be reactivated as a beer garden featuring Hanging Hills Brewing Co. and Hog River Brewing Co., according to the MetroHartford Alliance.

The Bushnell Park Beer Garden will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. every Friday through September except July 19, during the Hartford Jazz Festival, and September 13, the Friday before the Small State Great Beer event.

“After the Party on Pratt [pop-up event during March Madness], we knew there was an opportunity to expand on the event’s success. We saw that residents of Hartford have been craving something cool and new in the city,”  Hog River Brewing Company co-founder Ben Braddock said in a Q&A released by the regional economic development group.

“It will be great to give the city something new that excites people while activating a part of the city that goes mostly unused,” Hog River co-founder Joy Braddock added.
