Report: Firm Eyeing Empty Hartford Industrial Parcel After Distributor Inks Separate Deal

One of Hartford’s only undeveloped industrial parcels may not stay empty for long after a large produce distributor with operations nearby elected to build a new facility in East Windsor instead of expanding there.

Sysco division FreshPoint is eyeing the 20-acre lot for a new facility at the Hartford Regional Market under an open bidding process run by the Capitol Region Development Authority, the Hartford Business Journal reports.

The CRDA supports FreshPoint’s plan, but additional hurdles must be overcome before construction can proceed.
