Buyers paid more than $770,000 to the city of Hartford for 11 blighted properties at a recent auction, the first such sale of tax delinquent properties held since 2015.
The Hartford Courant reports that the sale of a prominent property was postponed for a later date – 492 Farmington Ave., the site of a Brazilian steakhouse that closed abruptly along with two others in the same chain in the city in 2012.
The starting bids on each property were the amount which was owed the city in taxes, ranging from over $100,000 to as little as $23,000.
